Essex-based punk rock risers Pet Needs have returned with their new single, ‘Separation Anxiety’. It’s a unique interpretation of the traditional love song, with breakneck instrumentals and twisting riffs counteracting off-beat vocals to craft something frantically melodic and memorable. On the chaos of their dichotomous lives and its inspiration on this latest track, the band say: “We thunder forward, show by show, adventure by adventure, until [normal life] returns as a speck on the horizon like an oasis in the desert. Then suddenly we’re home again. I sit content on the sofa with a beer, my wife and our new little puppy wondering what the hell just happened for the last three months.” ‘Separation Anxiety’ is taken from the band’s upcoming new album, Intermittent Fast Living, which drops on February 16th, 2024, via Xtra Mile Recordings. -Dan Peeke
